Experience cooking breakfast, lunch and supper meals is imperative to be able to keep up the pace during weekends, evenings and holidays.
Eligible candidate must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays for the next two months especially. This position is for evening shifts that start at 2:00 PM and end at 10:00 PM. Closing duties will include cleaning and dishwashing duties as required. Willingness to follow directions and listen to shift manager is imperative during your training.
This is a physically demanding labor intensive job. Your ability to hear, see and react in a positive fashion is part of the skills you will need to succeed in a team environment.
We have flexible shifts and various starting times on busy weekends. We will need you to work up to 40 hours per week for a period yet determined. Cooks must be able to lift approximately 10 kilograms or 25 pounds safely during the shift frequently. Cooking requires you to work in the kitchen to lift, stand, bend to lift and walk carrying food and supplies everyday. Manual dexterity (use of both hands) is essential to performing job duties. Safe knife handling for food preparation and assembly of orders at the pass bar is an actual requirment of the successful line cook. Food preparation is part of the job.
Reliable transportation is essential to get to work and get back home during the winter season on 125 Leva Avenue, Westside of Gasoline Alley location 3 kilometers south of the City of Red Deer, Alberta. We expect you be available for work on the premises at least 15 minutes before the start of your shift and dressed prepared for your work activities .
Cooking experience and Grade 12 education for food preparation is required.
Bonus and Tip-out will be also added to wages.
Candidate must be able to speak, read and write in the English fluently and with proficiently. On the job training will be offered to successful candidate. Cooking apprentice ship will be also available after one year experience. Food Safe Certificate, First Aid Certificate and WHMIS Cerificate will be necessary to work in our kitchen .
Understanding the importance of food safety and teamwork for delivery of quality customer service is your primary focus towards producing food for our customers.
We serve all day breakfast here from morning to closing time. Knowledge of Food Preparation Basics and Cleanliness/Sanitation is essential. Entry into our kitchen will require you to use our DWS machine to wash pots and pans as necessary. Teamwork is essential to quickly assembling each plate made to order for customers preferences. We will provide training if necessary to the person selected as our candidate to hire for this position.
You must be legally able to work in Canada or be a Canadian Citizen . Valid Identification and proof is required. Bring current letters of reference and certifications to interview.
