Kawartha Heights Retirement Living is looking for an enthusiastic Cook to join our team! This position requires an individual who is passionate about the food they are preparing to ensure a great dining experience for our residents. The Cook is responsible for the preparation, presentation, and plating of home-cooked meals as directed by the Food Service Supervisor. You must have experience in quantity cooking as well as batch cooking. Breakfast experience in egg cookery and scratch soup making is required as well as the ability to cook roasts and poultry along with other dinner items. You must be organized and have the ability to multitask. Need to possess a current Safe Food Handlers Certificate. If this sounds like you, then let us know!
Some tasks for this position will include, but are not limited to:
putting away stock on delivery days ensuring items are getting properly rotated, so must have the ability to lift and carry items between 30 and 50 lbs.
preparing meals as directed, by following standardized recipes and production schedules
Exceptional customer service with the ability to relate to seniors
works very well with others
proper communication skills, both written and verbal
