We're currently looking for an experienced, full-time,
Class 3 HyVac Operator
to join our growing team. The successful candidate for this position will be reliable, a team player, and customer-oriented. This position comes with an extended health benefits and RRSP package upon successful completion of the 3-month probationary period and a competitive wage depending on relevant experience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Completion of daily pre/post-trip inspections, general cleaning of the assigned truck in/outside, customer work orders or bills, and daily logbooks
Emptying the truck's holding tank as needed
Assess the job site requirements for the operation of the truck, ie: line flushing, pumping, digging, etc. Perform set ups for the start of the work cycle.
Monitoring the progress of each job, ensuring that the safety and the continued operation is conducted professionally and correctly, ie: water levels, hydraulic pressures, water pressures.
Have complete understanding of the operations of the Hydrovac, to be able to troubleshoot operations of the truck, should the need arise.
Speak with customers in a professional and friendly manner to explain findings and recommended service frequency.
Maintain consistent communication with supervisor and dispatch to receive and follow instructions
Immediately report any maintenance or damage related to the assigned truck
Follow site-specific PPE requirements upon arrival
Report all significant events on the road, including violations and near misses
Practice safe operation of the truck while driving, filling, and emptying tanks
Track time worked using the employer provided time and attendance tool
Perform other duties as assigned
Specific Skills:
Road knowledge of the Lower Mainland area
Strong communication skills
Good problem solving and decision-making skills
Able to perform a physically demanding job in all types of weather conditions
Ability to work overtime on an "as needed" basis
Ability to establish work priorities to ensure deadlines are met
Strong customer serviceability
Education & Experience:
Possess a valid BC Class 3 driver's license with air brakes (required)
Previous experience in a related industry (preferred)
2 years professional driving experience (preferred)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $32.00-$37.00 per hour
