Overview


We are seeking a motivated and eager 4th or 5th year Carpenter Apprentice to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to finish their remaining apprenticeship years. The ideal candidate will work with experienced carpenters while contributing to various projects.

Duties



Work as a team to carry out framing construction projects. Work in framing projects that are both structural and back framing. Work in various framing projects that include: renovation, structural renovation, additions, new builds, wall removals and beam installs. Demolition work is typically included within most job scopes. Assist in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project requirements. Work as a team and with partners to accomplish tasks. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various carpentry tasks. Engage in assembly tasks related to construction elements. Perform heavy lifting as required for transporting materials and equipment on job sites. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Operate with the utmost regard for health and safety at all times.

Requirements



3+ years experience in residential framing construction. Must be willing or already registered with Skilled Trades Ontario as apprentice or journeyman carpenter. Trade school completion is preferred but not mandatory. Strong interest in carpentry, construction, or related fields with a willingness to learn. Understands basic theoretical residential framing techniques. Strong familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools used in carpentry. Ability to read blueprints and schematics is preferred; practice and training will be provided. Experience in general residential construction is a plus. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during work shifts. Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members on-site. A proactive attitude towards learning new skills such as print reading, construction estimating and/or building code. Conducts themselves with a positive, solution based attitude. Must have reliable transportation to different project sites around the GTA.

Pay: $33.00-$41.75 per hour
