What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;
\xc2\xb7 Post-secondary diploma/degree in Recreation, Physical Literacy, Kinesiology, or equivalent;
\xc2\xb7 Minimum of 3 years working in a supervisory capacity within an organization providing services for children and youth;
\xc2\xb7 Customer service experience and/or experience working in a health-focused industry or recreational facility;
\xc2\xb7 Experience managing an effective staff team to collaboratively achieve desired outcomes;
\xc2\xb7 Exemplary skills in the planning and delivery of developmentally appropriate sport programs;
\xc2\xb7 Excellent oral and written communication skills, including intermediate use of technology;
\xc2\xb7 Budget development and management;
\xc2\xb7 Current Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months);
\xc2\xb7 Evidence of a cleared Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search;
\xc2\xb7 Three professional references required.
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
The Experience Manager will achieve the goals and objectives of the position by demonstrating the core competencies of the organization. The core priorities are fund development, health and safety, community engagement, and staff development and capacity building.
The Experience Manager is part of the branch management team, responsible for operational excellence within the branch and program areas. Program areas that report directly to the Experience Manger include:

Duties and Responsibilities include:
Operational Excelence
\xc2\xb7 Accountable for meeting the targets set within the Experience Manager scorecard;
\xc2\xb7 Ensure excellent service by responding to the immediate needs of all users;
\xc2\xb7 Ensure programming is delivered consistent to the course outline, quality standards and desired outcomes of YMCA Calgary, as defined by Program Experience and Project Delivery Teams;
\xc2\xb7 Commit to exceptional quality in the delivery of customer services within your department and branch;
\xc2\xb7 Develop and manage the Sport, Health & Fitness, Child & Family and Daycamp & Climbing departmental budgets;
\xc2\xb7 Use data as a key tool in program evaluation and decision making;
\xc2\xb7 Contribute to and participate in a variety of Association Project Delivery Teams, providing leadership as required;
Staff Development and Capacity Building
\xc2\xb7 Recruit and train the program delivery staff team;
\xc2\xb7 Commit to ensuring your staff team is afforded relevant professional development opportunities;
\xc2\xb7 As a manger within a YMCA facility, be responsible for coaching and supporting all direct and indirect reports within the branch;
Health and Safety
\xc2\xb7 Ensure compliance to all health and safety systems, policies, and procedures within your branch;
\xc2\xb7 Ensure compliance of all certifications for staff and volunteers within your department areas;
Community Engagement
\xc2\xb7 Support the general manager in ensuring the YMCA has a positive presence in the local community;
Fund Development
\xc2\xb7 Provide direct leadership and oversight to the Staff and Volunteer aspect of the Annual Campaign.
