Type of Employment: Contract

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up to date material status reporting of material under care and control.
  • Coordinate with construction planning and establishing material availability reporting.
  • Perform detailed analysis of material requirements to support complex construction schedules and activities across numerous work fronts.
  • Develop concise material status summaries across a host of engineered items.
  • Identify areas of critical material shortages that do not support construction schedules.
  • Review supplier documentation for accuracy against engineered drawings, purchase orders or contracts, and deliverable materials from a material control perspective
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of material management system(s) used to control project materials activities.
  • Assist in the management and re-order process of missing and surplus field material, dealing with the construction contractors and home office material control and procurement.
  • Ensure accuracy of Contractor material requests for construction in relation to engineering design. Report on discrepancies
  • Manage the reporting and resolution of the Over Short and Damaged process ensuring full material availability.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of receipt, storage, issue, return and management of Project procured material.
  • Responsible for the timely reporting of material receipts/issues and keeping the materials management system up to date with activities affecting inventory.
  • Interface with Project Procurement, Expediting, Logistics and Construction to support supply chain activities.
  • Be capable to execute and provide direction to staff in Material receipt verification in accordance with purchase orders and contracts,
  • Coordinate physical inventory counting and regular verification of on hand quantities and condition.
  • Coordination of outgoing material and material returned from contractor(s)
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Minimum bachelor\'s degree with 5 to 7 years of material and logistics experience, or equivalent work experience
  • Prior project management training and experience will be an asset.
  • Competent / expert in material management and logistics functions
  • Highly skilled in data analysis tools and techniques and use of MS
  • Excel / MS Access and other database applications
  • Excels in use of computerized materials / inventory management systems.
  • Competent with project schedules with multiple work fronts and locations
  • Familiar with Document Control systems and their application
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and report preparation
