People like you!The Burnaby RCMP Detachment is currently looking for Exhibit Custodians to join their team. If you want to contribute to keeping your community safe, this could be the job for you! An Exhibit Custodian is responsible for maintaining the storage and security of criminal exhibits; including stolen, seized and found property. Duties include receiving and storing exhibits, preparing various records and correspondence relating to the acquisition and disposition of exhibits, packing exhibits for safe shipment, destroying various exhibits as directed and providing staff with information on matters related to exhibit handling. Performs other related work as required.Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 plus sound related experience in general office, clerical or storekeeping work or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge on the procedures of receiving and recording police exhibits, maintaining their storage and preparing and maintaining files and reports. Experience using software including spreadsheet, word processing and PRIME is needed, as is the ability to establish strong working relationships internally as well as liaising with external agencies as required; being comfortable working with high-risk items such as firearms, currency and drugs, and the ability to manually lift and sort various items. A valid Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is required. The incumbent will also be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.Pay Rate: $31.97 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates)Location: RCMP DetachmentHours of Work: This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are based on operational requirements and do not provide guaranteed hours of work, which may include on-call shifts.
