Here\'s how

• Conduct various aerobic fitness test protocols (V02max, Bruce, Gerkins, modified Bruce, etc)
• Conduct ECG and stress tests including setting up electrodes/wires, blood pressure monitoring
• Review and print results from stress and resting ECG\'s
• Confer professionally with medical personnel regarding abnormalities and results
• Monitor patient safety throughout the test, including using defibrillator when required
• Perform vision, hearing, spirometry, audio testing
• Explain procedures to patients and answer testing related questions
• Supporting physicians as required
• Follow sanitation guidelines for lab cleaning, ensuring examination rooms are stocked with medical supplies
• Perform other testing and clinic-related tasks as required including ordering of medical supplies
• Perform medical procedures in accordance with regulatory body guidelines and TELUS Health Care Centres internal policies

Qualifications

You\'re the missing piece of the puzzle

• Completion of a post-secondary Cardiology Technology program or Exercise Physiology program is required
• Completed Bachelor\'s degree in Human Kinetics, Exercise Sciences or Kinesiology
• Certified Exercise Physiologist registration and CPR level (C) is mandatory
• Clinical experience with exercise testing, exercise physiology, stress, stationary bike & resting ECGs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and make decisions affecting patient care
• Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, while delivering highest level of patient care
• Personal qualities must include high respect for confidentiality and commitment to excellent customer satisfaction
• Self-starter who demonstrates attention to detail, a high level of accountability and sound judgment
• Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to work effectively in a team environment in an organized fashion
• Works well under pressure and demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing time sensitive tasks
