The Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board (SSDB) located in Saskatoon SK, is considered the voice for the sheep industry in Saskatchewan. The SSDB is a not-for-profit producer organization governed by the Saskatchewan Agri-Food Council. The SSDB works on behalf of approximately 800 producer members across the province with a flock of approximately 60,000 breeding ewes. The SSDB strives to be a leader of a prosperous sheep industry by providing supportive programs and services to its producers. The SSDB is involved in many activities including planning education seminars, providing extension services, promoting the sheep industry and advocating for producers. Qualifications
The Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board (SSDB) is looking for a self-motivated individual to be involved in a wide variety of office administration and sheep industry events. You may be right for this role if you have some of the qualifications below:
Work both independently and as part of a team
Proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft 365 and Sage 50
Experience in office administration and knowledge of financial processes
Business or agriculture education would be an asset
Strong communication, verbal and written skills
Experience managing social media content and channels
Knowledge or experience in the sheep industry would be preferred
SSDB Executive Director Tasks and Responsibilities
General oversight and management of Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board operations.
Receiving and processing producer inquiries
Financial operations oversight
Strategic Plan and program implementation
SSDB director and industry liaison and reporting
Industry promotion and advocacy
Providing management of marketing services and market information
SSDB communication contribution and oversight
Event planning and facilitation including collaboration with other industry groups and committees
Facilitating education events and extension services for producers
Receiving and implementing directives from the board of directors
Schedule and Work Hours
Full time, permanent position Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Occasional evenings and weekend hours are required. The position would begin on March 1, 2026. A flexible work arrangement including work from home may be considered for the right candidate.
