Reporting to a Board of Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and development of the Chamber, the provision of programs and services for the Chamber's members and will act as the Chamber's key public spokesperson. Responsibilities will evolve but can be expected to include:

Program and Service Development
Project management (i.e. monthly newsletter, fundraising events)
Event planning (i.e. workshops, trade shows)
Public speaking/presentations
Website and social media account maintenance
Policy, Planning and Board Support
Development of Chamber documents (i.e. policy and procedures manual)
Regular communication with the Board of Directors, including attendance at monthly board meetings
Financial
budgeting
Human Resource Management
Recruitment and management of seasonal staff and volunteers
Community Relations and Partnerships
Development and maintenance of relationships with stakeholders and government
Representing the views and interests of the Chamber as it represents the members at local forums
Media Relations
Requirements:
Profound knowledge of small business and the region of Eastern Charlotte.
Competencies in Microsoft Suite, Social Media applications and Canva.
Experience in public advocacy and government relations.
Demonstrated experience with strategic planning.
Management experience.
Financial experience.
Organizational skills.
Strong skills in customer/member relations.
Facilitation skills.
Familiarity with non-profit organization and/or association operations.
Formal training/post-secondary education related to communications, public relations, ETC., is considered an asset but not a requirement. Equivalent experience will be considered.
This position will require travel throughout the region of Eastern Charlotte, and occasionally, provincial travel (reimbursable) may occur. This position is for 20-28 hours/week. Due the nature of the job, it is expected that you will work varying hours (evenings and weekends as well). This is a remote position; however, an office location should be expected within the first year.
