The KF Aerospace Centre for Excellence Association was established to perpetuate the legacy of KF Aerospace and its founder, Barry Lapointe. It operates on a not-for-profit basis and was established to celebrate aviation history, promote aviation excellence, and advance participation in aerospace by way of education, advocacy and other community-based activities. In furtherance of those purposes, it has built and now operates the KF Aerospace Centre for Excellence, a museum and exhibit venue that showcases the history of aviation in the Okanagan Valley and provides facilities for events with a connection to the aviation community.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the board of directors, the Executive Director is the chief executive and operating officer, responsible for executing its mandate and strategic plan. The core duties and responsibilities pertain to the successful operation of the Centre as a not-for-profit facility. The Executive Director represents the organization in public, leads and manages day-to-day operations and is responsible for the financial well-being of the organization, including the acquisition and preservation of exhibits, public interactions with the facility and aircraft, the hosting of events that are consistent with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s mandate and its not-for-profit status, and related community engagement on and off site as part of the Centre\xe2\x80\x99s educational and advocacy mandate.At present the focus of the organization is the Centre. Other projects will follow that fulfill and advance its legacy objectives into the future.
