Job Description

The Arts on the Fly Festival is seeking a part-time Executive Director (ED) to work

alongside our volunteer Board of Directors. This is a contract role averaging ~200 hours per year, with workload peaking during the fall grant application and reporting season and in the lead-up to the summer festival. While this is currently a small-scale contract, it is an opportunity for someone who is ambitious about nonprofit leadership - with room to grow the position as the festival and its funding

expand.

Key Responsibilities

? co manage preparation of the annual operating budget (~$40K) with the Board Treasurer.

? Oversee day-to-day financial preparations for the festival.

? Prepare and submit grant applications and reporting; collaborate with the AD on program

narratives.

? Secure sponsorships and donations.

? Project management for festival set up.

? Maintain organizational records and provide Governance Support.

? Provide the Board with timely reports on operations, finance, and risk.

? Attend all Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

? Work with small committees to ensure coordination of each item is on track.

? Coordinate with Social media & Web contractor about virtual posts/ website maintenance needs.

Qualifications

? Experience in nonprofit administration, financial oversight, and fundraising (grants and

sponsorships), or general experience with a commitment to learn.

? Strong organizational and communication skills.

? Knowledge of nonprofit compliance requirements in BC (Societies Act, CRA) an asset.

? Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a volunteer Board and Artistic

Director.

? Familiarity with the Arts on the Fly Festival is an asset but not required.
