About the Opportunity
Are you a motivated, strategic leader passionate about Nova Scotia's agriculture and rural industries? The Christmas Tree Council of Nova Scotia (CTCNS) is seeking a Full-Time Executive Director to lead our dynamic, province-wide organization representing Christmas tree and greenery growers, exporters, and industry partners.
This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact--working with producers, government, and stakeholders to strengthen one of Nova Scotia's most iconic and globally recognized agricultural sectors.
As Executive Director, you'll provide vision, leadership, financial management, and industry advocacy, driving innovation, sustainability, and growth across the Christmas tree and greenery industry. Learn more about CTCNS here:

Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Council.
Implement strategic plans and support the Board of Directors in achieving goals.
Manage financial operations, budgeting, and administration of the provincial Christmas Tree Levy.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with member associations, government, and industry stakeholders.
Lead communications, marketing, and promotions to grow industry visibility locally and internationally.
Pursue funding, research, and development opportunities to support innovation and workforce capacity.
Represent the Council at industry events, conferences, and media engagements.
Foster good governance, transparency, and collaboration throughout the organization.
What You Bring
Proven leadership and management experience in a nonprofit, association, or agricultural organization.
Strong financial and administrative skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
Knowledge of government programs, funding, and regulation (asset).
Experience in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and digital communication tools.
Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Nova Scotia.
A background in agriculture, forestry, or rural economic development is an asset.
Job Details
Compensation: $70,000 annually with potential for performance bonuses (based on experience)
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) - Flexible schedule
Location: Flexible within Nova Scotia (occasional travel required)
