Job Description

The ED will drive fund development, manage organizational operations and programs, implement strategic and operational plans, and a two-year transition with ongoing support from the founder/chair. The fundamental objectives are to support long-term organizational stability, leadership continuity, and the successful execution of core programs, including three key initiatives the ED will manage beginning in 2026.

The Executive Director (ED) provides full-time management and operational leadership of the Foundation. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will fulfill the organization's mission, responsible for enhancing organizational sustainability, implementing and strengthening The ACCT foundation fund development, programs and initiatives, and managing operations.

This role is open to qualified candidates based in

Calgary or remotely within Canada

on an independent contract basis for a three-year term. Remote employee must be able to travel to Calgary a minimum of four times annually for in-person meetings or for occasions as required. Travel expenses will be covered in line with organizational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities



Strategic leadership and board governance support Fund development and revenue growth Financial oversight and operational management Program leadership and delivery as well as community engagement and partnership development Communications, marketing, and organizational visibility

Key Outcomes and Performance Indicators



Successful onboarding and transition from founder leadership Increased operational stability and staff coordination (Completion benchmarks for strategic plans; Staff retention and satisfaction; Program performance indicators and impact measures) Implementation of fund development activities (Annual revenue growth and diversification) Integration of marketing, communications, and technology strategies (Operational system improvements for HR, IT, finance) Improved financial management and reporting systems

Qualifications



Required:

A relevant undergraduate degree or higher Proven skills, knowledge and experience in senior leadership and management (8-10 years) Knowledge and experience in addressing anti-discrimination, equity and inclusion Proven success in fundraising and financial oversight Demonstrated experience in proposal writing and reporting Strong strategic thinking, communication, leadership, relationship-partnership building and problem-solving skills Experience working effectively with administrative-governance Board

Assets:

Leadership and experience with building, managing a non-profit or community organization Knowledge and experience with civic and community leadership development Bi- or multi-lingual

Compensation



Salary range: $100,000-$125,000 annually, commensurate with experience
