Surfrider Foundation Canada is seeking a passionate, strategic, and collaborative Executive Director to lead our national organization into its next chapter.

As part of the global Surfrider network, we support volunteer-led chapters through community action, advocacy, education, and science-based initiatives. The Opportunity

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for overall leadership of Surfrider Foundation Canada, including strategy, operations, fundraising, partnerships, and team leadership. The ED serves as the organization's primary spokesperson and works closely with staff, volunteers, funders, and partners to advance our mission nationally.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and implement Surfrider Canada's strategic plan

Fundraising and ensure organizational and financial sustainability

Build and steward strong funder, partner, and community relationships

Support and grow a high-performing staff and volunteer network

Work closely with the Board to support strong governance

Champion justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous reconciliation

Represent Surfrider Canada publicly and with media


About You:


5+ years of senior nonprofit or equivalent leadership experience

Strong fundraising and financial management skills

Experience working effectively with a Board of Directors

Knowledge of Canada's environmental, charitable, and regulatory landscape

Excellent communicator, collaborator, and people leader

Deep commitment to environmental protection and social justice


Location: Canada (remote with travel; preference for coastal regions)

Position: Full-time, permanent
