The Executive Director (ED) serves as the public representative of HAMILTON SOCCER, providing strategic leadership in line with the organization's values and delivering high-quality service to members, stakeholders and soccer governing bodies. Reporting to the President/Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The ED will oversee operations and programs, ensuring alignment with the strategic plan, policies, and financial framework of Hamilton Soccer. The ED fosters a culture of integrity, communication and support, promoting District initiatives
The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and administrative experience to serve the District membership. Attention to detail is an integral part of this position.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

manage staff and resources
Work closely and collaborate with the Board of Directors and committees to assess and address issues affecting the organization
Oversee daily operation of the organization, provide executive direction for program strategies and efficiencies, compliance, and quality assurance
Attend Board meetings, provide the strategic, operational, and financial updates
Identify and address staffing requirements for efficient operations, and maintain a strong work culture that attracts and retains people while driving the organization's mission and values
Increase awareness of the organization by being the main spokesperson and liaison with the membership and key stakeholders
Develop an actionable plan to implement the strategic direction; lead the execution and manage the organizational risks
Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and regulations (e.g., ONCA)
Promote HAMILTON SOCCER's programs, collaborate with stakeholders, and prepare the Annual Report
Create business plans for achieving goals and objectives set in collaboration with board of directors
Ensure fiscal integrity, aligning budgets with strategic priorities
Monitor the budget, provide monthly updates and quarterly and yearly forecasts
Implement strong internal controls and make necessary financial adjustments
Seek grant opportunities, in partnership with board of directors, by securing financial support from foundations and government funding sources
Work with staff and board on annual events, and oversee all external communications, including website, marketing collateral, newsletters, and social media
Serve as the face of the organization and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand, and develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness and expand programs
Build and lead an effective team that's dedicated to fulfilling the organization's mission through highly successful programs, membership and stakeholder engagement
Manage staff members and clients whose experiences, cultures, and languages reflect the community served by the organization
Required skills and qualifications
Five (5) or more years of experience in senior management, preferably with nonprofit organizations
Strong experience in public relations and marketing
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict management skills
Customer service oriented with strong verbal, written and visual communication skills
Knowledge of leadership and management principles for nonprofit organizations
Proven success working with a board of directors
Ability to motivate and develop people
Strong computer literacy in all Microsoft Suite products
Entrepreneurial mindset, with innovative approach to business planning
Dynamic and charismatic team player who enjoys being the public face of an organization
Able to fulfill any management team duties when the need arises
Preferred skills and qualifications
Post-secondary education, preferably in Sports Management and non-profit
Experience in managing budgets
Understanding of Hamilton Soccer & Ontario Soccer Bylaws, Policies, & Operational Procedures
Knowledge of amateur sport governance
