Your Opportunity:

Your opportunity, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, is accountable for all Provincial Community Care Digital Health programs and services including the required analysis, architecture, development, design, implementation, and maintenance. Accountable for ensuring that all associated clinical systems and clinical support systems enable the business to be effective and efficient in achieving the organization\'s strategic goals. The primary business areas supported are Provincial and Zone Public Health, Emergency Medical Systems, Primary Care, Health Link, Addictions and Mental Health, Corrections, and Seniors Health.

Description:

Accountable for all Provincial Community IT programs and services including the required analysis, architecture, development, design, implementation, and maintenance. Accountable for ensuring that all corporate systems enable the business to be effective and efficient in achieving the organization\'s strategic goals. Acts as the primary interface with provincial and zone executives and business partners in determining the organization\'s long-term information technology philosophy and requirements and identifies overall strategies for information and technical systems implementation across the corporate services portfolio and associated priorities. Has organization wide accountability for providing Provincial Community Care Service needs for information to clinicians, patients and families though the development of strategies and roadmaps, maintenance of systems and workflows to enable equitable care for all Albertans. In conjunction with Clinical Partners and other areas in IT is accountable to deliver the electronic transactional systems to provide clinicians with the right information, about the right patient, to the right provider, at the right time, to enable the right care. This supports the goal of providing a single health record for each Albertan. Accountable for working with and aligning with the Provincial Program to enable the strategies, goals and objectives of Programs such as Public Health, Emergency Medical Systems, Primary Care, Health Link, Addictions and Mental Health, Corrections, and Seniors Health. Ensures that the portfolio enables clinicians to meet the organization\'s strategic goals effectively and efficiently.

Required Qualifications:

Relevant business knowledge and experience in a community healthcare setting. Comprehensive knowledge of patient care areas and related services including implementing complex digital health initiatives. Knowledge of people management, financial management, change management, leadership, project management, quality improvement, planning cycles business acumen and information analysis. Knowledge and experience with AHS, Connect Care, Alberta\'s healthcare structure, and of collective agreements. Specifically, as we look to transform Digital Health there are a number of competencies that will be needed; highly collaborative, effective communicator, facilitation/negotiation, influential especially with decision makers and operational teams, process performance management, business process discovery, modeling, analysis, and design. Business process governance and process policy management. Intellectually, inquisitive, and creative, critical thinking and problem solving, including strong intellectual integrity.
Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of related Baccalaureate degree.
Preferred Qualifications:

Preferably a Master\'s degree in health services administration or business administration or equivalent. Equivalent experience will be accepted. Additional management courses and professional membership that expand business acumen are preferred.
