The Innovation Division has three key objectives to foster innovation in business and industry, develop Manitoba's strong tech sector, and promote innovation across the public sector.



The AI and Data Branch supports each point of that mandate with programming, product management, and subject matter expertise in AI adoption, AI development, analytics, business intelligence, dashboard and report development, data engineering, data warehousing and lakehousing, and open data. The branch also leads management of sovereign AI, data, and compute initiatives.



The Branch promotes innovation across the public sector with a focus on applications of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, analytics and open data to improve the services that Manitobans rely on.
