We are looking to hire a commendable Executive Chef to manage the kitchen, develop menus and create delectable recipes. The ideal candidate for this position is creative, enthusiastic and passionate about food. The Executive Chef attracts and retains staff, maintains a cooperative relationship with team members, optimizes staff productivity and serves as replacement in team members' absence.
You will train staff to use new recipes, cooking techniques and equipment, and oversee cooks performing food preparation. You will oversee delivery of food supplies, prepare special dishes and supervise overall kitchen operation during dinner service.
To ensure success you will ensure your team delivers high-quality, cost-effective dishes promptly.
Executive Chef is responsible for:
Oversee all culinary daily operations
Manage all waste food and ensure appropriate distribution for same and ensure achievement of all production objectives.
Coordinate with purchasing department to recommend purchases of all kitchen equipment and analyze all procedures to reduce cost and increase effectiveness of all products to ensure customer satisfaction.
Menu development to ensure product quality and food cost management
Supervise kitchen staff to ensure quality, speed and consistency of food
Fulfill management duties including inventory, payroll and administration
Lead by example and ensure protocols, policies, and procedures are followed
Hire and train new employees and provide ongoing staff development
Complete food orders that reflect cost effective food preparation
Ensure food safety and kitchen cleanliness guidelines and regulations are followed
Manage scheduling to reflect budget targets Interact with members to obtain open dialogue and feedback
Working Exec Chef position, hands on daily with team members, leading and instructing the team
Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in culinary management
5 years' experience in a kitchen leadership role such as Chef du Cuisine, Exec Sous Chef, Exec Chef
Strong coaching, administration and organizational skills
Creative and innovative with food knowledge
Strong interpersonal and team leadership with high influencing skills
Resilience through daily stressful situations
Ability to work through difficult situations in a professional manner
Passion for food trends and continuing education
Red Seal Certification completed
Physical Qualifications:
Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for long periods of time
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 9 kg / 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 23 kg/50 pounds
Must have visual acuity suitable for using computing systems, with or without aid, and have hearing acuity or other ability to reasonably understand when spoken to.
Must have a strong emotional intelligence
