The company is growing rapidly and has close to 200 employees in 5 offices across the province. The firm is made up of a multidisciplinary team of qualified professionals that includes brokers dedicated to risk marketing, preventionists and adjusters. The firm is currently seeking an experienced Executive Broker to join the Montreal office team.

POSITION SUMMARY The Executive Broker provides customer service and manages the placement and negotiation process with insurers.
YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: Placement-related tasks (underwriting)
  • Ensure that the necessary renewal documentation is up to date for the client meeting
  • Receive underwriting and update information for renewal and new business
  • Transmit/communicate renewal and new business information to insurers
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with insurers
  • Compile and analyse terms and conditions received from insurers
  • Prepare a summary of market results to the AM as required
  • Coordinate and prepare the necessary documentation to finalize the submission of renewal terms and conditions or quotes
Customer service tasks
  • Liaising with clients during term to follow up on outstanding issues (signatures, documents, etc.)
  • Answer client questions during term
  • Analyze and comment on client quotes/contracts/miscellaneous documents to identify insurance issues (if necessary)
  • Handling insurance certificate applications
  • Receive and process various change requests during term and identify new claims as needed
  • Prevention and recommendations: receipt, brief analysis, and follow-up

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE:
  • Have a DEC in Insurance, Administration or other related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role either as a Broker or an Insurer in the field of commercial (B2B) insurance.
  • Excellent knowledge of the underwriting field.
  • Possess an AMF license in property and casualty insurance or be willing to take the steps to obtain it.
  • Bilingual French and functional in English.
