Description:

Reporting to the Senior Operating Officer Area 9 & North Zone System Transformation, Quality, Safety & Performance, the Executive Associate is responsible for providing senior administrative management services to the Office of the Senior Operating Officer. The Executive Associate manages and coordinates issues and leads administrative activities affecting the portfolio, allowing the Senior Operating Officer to focus on strategic leadership and organizational matters. This position will build consistency and continuity within AHS within the context of the wider AHS organization, while providing background and strategic advice to the Senior Operating Officer of issues related to administrative management, policies and other organizational matters. The Executive Associate provides services in office management, issues management, strategic planning, committee support, project management, stakeholder and community liaison and executive support services, to build the strength and effectiveness of the executive office.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary education with minimum of 5 years of administrative experience working at a senior level and preferably with a background in a healthcare environment; research background. Diplomatic and politically and socially aware. Possess highly effective communication and organizational skills. Considerable ability to stay focused, efficient and effective in managing multiple priorities within an environment of numerous arising demands. Considerable working knowledge of Alberta Health Services systems and processes and of the organization and programs. Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. Strong working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office software (including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook and Adobe). Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment. Possess highly effective communication and organizational skills. Excellent calendar management skills, including the coordination of complex senior level meetings. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information appropriately. Ability to provide after hours and flexible support, as necessary. A high level of professionalism and positive image at all times and a solid work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in administration/health administration, preferred. Clinical background & training.
