Full-time, 3 year term, position, working 75 hours bi-weekly
$71,562.50- $82,540.61

What's YESAB?
The Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB) is an independent body established under the Umbrella Final Agreement and YESAA legislation in 2003. YESAB conducts environmental and socio-economic assessments of projects before they are approved by the governing body. Our purpose is to conduct neutral, timely, efficient, and effective environmental and socio-economic assessments in the Yukon.

Eligibility
  • Advanced knowledge of, and experience in, office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to deal with frequent interruptions, multiple changing priorities, and competing deadlines.
  • A self-starter and proactive individual who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience communicating with Indigenous group representatives, government representatives, stakeholder groups, members of the public, and process participants.
  • General understanding of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act, Yukon First Nations agreements, and office administrative procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with databases and software (e.g., Verifyle, Microsoft Office, mapping software).
  • Valid Class 5 Yukon Driver's License required.
The , reporting to the Panel and Hearing Manager, will be a part of the YESAB's Panel team. The Executive Assistant is responsible for:
  • Coordinating all logistical and administrative arrangements for external and internal Panel and Hearing Meetings.
  • Drafting, editing and reviewing official documents related to Panel activities and decisions.
  • Working with YESAB's Communications Team to review and coordinate the implementation of the engagement plan and supporting the development of brochures and plain language documents, social media posts, print and radio ads, and updates to website content.
  • Supporting members of the Panel team with environmental assessment and policy activities including conducting research, assisting with preparation of guidelines and tools required for assessment and using the YESAB Online Registry.
As part of this process, YESAB may create an eligibility list of candidates who meet the essential qualifications for the position. This list may be used to fill future vacancies within a defined time period. Being placed on the eligibility list does not guarantee an offer of employment.
