Serve as the right hand to our Public Safety Commissioner, playing a vital role in enhancing community safety and resilience through Uxwumixw (community) support. Your organizational skills and cultural awareness will help strengthen our nation's emergency preparedness and public safety initiatives.
What You'll Do
------------------
Manage all incoming/outgoing information for the Public Safety Commissioner, acting as gatekeeper and advisor
Coordinate department projects, ensuring timelines are met and stakeholders are informed
Research and advise on Sk?wx?wu7mesh policies, guidelines, and legal matters with cultural sensitivity
Build relationships with community members, listening to concerns and ensuring voices are heard
Manage contractor communications and maintain accurate records of all interactions
Develop reporting systems to track department performance and improvements
Support emergency preparedness initiatives through scheduling and logistics coordination
Uphold wenaxws (respect) in all interactions with staff, members, and external partners
What We're Looking For
--------------------------
5+ years experience supporting executive leadership in a complex organization
Exceptional project coordination and calendar management skills
Advanced proficiency in office software and reporting systems
Strong ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences
Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations
Knowledge of emergency services or public safety systems (asset)

Salary:
$62,500 - $ 87,500
Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
