Intermediate accounting and regulatory skills

Acts as a liaison to CFO's direct reports; assisting as necessary
Scans and copies documentation and maintains the CFO electronic and physical filing systems of financial and legal documents as well as all contracts, agreements and reports
Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to maintain a consistently high level of accuracy

Knowledge / Education
Intermediate knowledge of regulatory accounting procedures and Ontario regulatory regulations
Post-secondary diploma in business or related discipline or related experience
General understanding of banking and insurance processes & procedures
Advanced knowledge of administrative/clerical procedures
Intermediate knowledge of applicable provincial legislation
Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements as it relates to individual, organizational and operational requirement
Experience
Previous experience in an accounting role in Finance and/or Regulatory role in an LDC
Three to five (3 - 5) years supporting a senior executive preferred
Knowledge of JD Edwards preferred
Major (Primary) Responsibilities
Administrative
: Provide administrative support to the Vice President Finance & CFO. Compose confidential correspondence, reports and gather information as required. Coordinate and organize meetings with various stakeholders. Provide back up to the Executive Assistant - President & CEO. Provide support to Board Committees, as required. Assist with corporate insurance renewals and processing of Certificates of Insurance documents, claims, and the maintenance of policies and reports. Compile reports and other tracking materials for various groups with Finance as required, maintaining a high level of accuracy. Serve as the Administrator of the Corporate banking including credit card issuance, inquiries and processing.
Budgets:
Assist the department directors, managers and supervisors with annual department budget input and balancing into the ERP system.
Safety:
Support corporate Occupational Health & Safety initiatives by incorporating safe work practices into daily work routine. Report any unsafe conditions or observed unsafe work practices to supervisor
