Equipment

Operator/Labourer

, preferably with experience running a

mini excavator

. Reporting to the Site Foreman and Project Management Team, this position is responsible for operating heavy equipment as well as doing any labour work required in a safe and appropriate manner consistent with company values, policies and procedures. The position runs annually from May to November and we are hiring now for the upcoming 2025 season!

Requirements:

At least 5+ years of heavy equipment operating experience Valid Driver's License & reliable transportation Solid understanding of construction, maintenance techniques & how to safely use equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine equipment maintenance. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work with minimal supervision. Heavy Equipment Operator trade certification considered an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Checking equipment before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order. Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances. Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the Site Foreman in order to facilitate prompt correction and reporting. Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service. Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work on site as required. Perform a large variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour. Maneuver heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, follow signals from crew members as needed, check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. Operate equipment such as mobile radios and telephones to exchange necessary information to Site Foreman or other operators. Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of equipment is cleaned up. Other duties as required.
