The Opportunity
This role is for an
experienced operator
who thrives on complex earthworks. Your expertise will be vital in executing various scopes and ensuring the success and top-quality finish of our projects.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Earthmoving Operations:
Proficiently operate excavators and other heavy equipment for earthmoving scopes, including dam construction and aggregate management.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Accurately read, interpret, and execute complex blueprints and design specifications for our projects.
Collaborate & Optimize:
Work effectively with project managers, engineers, environmental monitors, and ground crew to optimize workflows and achieve project milestones.
Safe & Productive Operation:
Operate heavy equipment in a highly safe, efficient, and productive manner, setting a standard for the team.
Equipment Care:
Perform thorough pre-operation inspections, routine maintenance, greasing, and fluid checks on equipment.
Safety Champion:
Actively participate in all safety protocols and champion our company's unwavering commitment to a safe work environment.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Extensive Excavator Operating Experience:
Minimum 5 years of operating experience. We are specifically seeking experience in
large-scale earthmoving, dam construction, and aggregate management
, particularly within environmental works (e.g., dam-building, rip-rap placement, in-stream works). Experience in civil, commercial, and/or residential projects is also valuable. Please highlight your relevant experience in these areas in your cover letter or resume.
Precision Grading:
Exceptional ability to cut, maintain, and build accurate grades.
Problem-Solving Skills:
The ability to adapt to changing site conditions and implement effective solutions for earthworks challenges, prioritizing cost-effectiveness and quality.
Safety First Mentality:
A steadfast commitment to top-quality work and an uncompromised dedication to safety, including experience working around underground utilities.
Collaboration & Communication:
Excellent coordination and communication skills to work effectively within our team.
Experience with foundation digs/backfills is an asset.
