Con-Ex Civil Contractors Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced Excavator Operator for our Civil Construction team. Con-Ex has been locally owned and operated for over 20 years in the Civil industry, conducting work in an array of different environments including: Commercial Buildings, Subdivisions, Water/sewer/storm upgrades, roadworks, earthworks and everything in between.In this role you will be a valued full-time excavator operator and Local 115 member, reporting to the foreman/superintendent to achieve designated tasks timely and efficiently.Benefits:Con-Ex Civil Contractors Ltd. is a union run company operating through Local 115 Operating Engineers residing here in Kamloops BC.
Contract length: 10-12 monthsPay: $32.00-$37.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 - 48 per weekBenefits:

- Boot allowance ($300.00) every year after 1yr of work
- Overtime pay 1.5x after 10hrs daily or 40hrs weekly (including all Saturdays), 2x after 11hrs daily or any Sunday or Statutory Holidays
- Monday-Thursday 10hr shifts with 3 day weekends weekly (overtime is available but not required as per local 115 agreement)
- Minimum 2-3 years experience operating Excavators
- Minimum 1 year experience in Civil Construction
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances
- Perform Pre-trip inspections and maintain equipment (report any issues to supervisor)
- Operate safely around other existing utilities, employees, equipment, buildings, powerlines etc.
- Mainline trenching of sani/storm/water mains (possibly twinning mainlines) and digging for services
- Preparation for asphalt and curbing including sub-grade, pit-run prep etc.
- Digging basements and or commercial buildings and footings
- Backfill safely and proficiently ensuring material is properly conditioned for geotechnical testing
- Reliably show up for work on time
