Excavation Labourer

to join our growing

Excavation Division

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on, outdoor work and is looking to build a long-term career in the plumbing, drainage, and underground services industry.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform hand digging and machine-assisted excavations for the installation, repair, and replacement of water service lines, sanitary and storm drainage lines, perimeter drainage systems, septic systems, catch basins, sump pits, and inspection chambers Assist with site preparation, trenching, backfilling, grading, and material handling. Safely work around existing underground utilities, including gas, water, sewer, and electrical services. Operate small machinery and equipment such as compactors, demo saws, jackhammers, and hand tools. Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites. Follow directions from site supervisors and equipment operators to ensure efficient and safe completion of excavation tasks. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Participate in daily safety meetings, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks. Provide support to plumbers and operators as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Previous labouring or excavation experience

in plumbing, drainage, or construction is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Physically fit and capable of performing heavy, repetitive tasks outdoors in various weather conditions. Comfortable working in excavation areas, trenches, and confined spaces. Knowledge of basic construction and safety practices, including the use of shovels, picks, and other hand tools. Valid

Class 5 driver's licence

with a clean driving record; ability to get to various job sites around [City/Region]. Safety certifications such as

First Aid, WHMIS, Confined Space Entry, or Ground Disturbance

considered an asset. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work as part of a team.
