Kelowna Yacht Club has been supporting boater education and safe, responsible enjoyment of Okanagan Lake since 1945. Our facility is a resource for community partners such as the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron and Adaptive Sailing Association.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized
Events & Programming Coordinator
to lead the planning, coordination, and on-site execution of all Club events and programming. You'll be part of a passionate, professional team that thrives on creating exceptional moments for our members. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a growing portfolio of programs, bring new ideas to the table, and help shape the future of our Club's event experience.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute a year-round calendar of events and programming for members of all ages and interests.
Lead event logistics including vendor coordination, setup and teardown, on-site presence, and post event follow-up.
Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure seamless event execution.
Contribute creatively to program development, bringing fresh ideas and fun, member-driven experiences to life.
Coordinate and grow the Club's volunteer program, including scheduling, engagement, recognition, and tracking.
Manage event budgets, contracts, and administrative processes.
Track participation, gather feedback, and prepare reports to evaluate success and guide future planning.
Maintain accurate records, calendars, and documentation in collaboration with the Member Services department.
Champion a welcoming, inclusive, and positive culture at all events and programs.
Qualification & Skills
2-4 years of experience in event coordination, hospitality, or a member-based environment.
Experience in a private or member-based club is highly preferred.
Exceptional organizational and administrative skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a natural collaborator and problem-solver.
Creative, adaptive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event calendar.
Event planning certificate and Serving It Right are considered assets but are not required.
