The Host is responsible to manage reservations, handle guest inquiries, greet guests upon entering the dining area, place guests on a waiting list, seat guests at a table, and assign servers to tables.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Promote positive customer experiences by providing prompt and courteous services
Possess full knowledge of the Totem Rewards benefits and slot promotions
Maintain a professional and positive demeanor
Deliver and sell casino promotions, programs, and amenities to casino guests
Greet guests as they enter the dining room
Seat guests at tables, provide them with menus, and answer any initial questions
Place guests on a waiting list and call them when table is ready
Answer the phone and handle inquiries with the highest level of professionalism
Manage reservations and schedule reservations according to company standards
Maintain an accurate count of guests entering the restaurant
Ensure guests are satisfied and request feedback (Did you enjoy your evening?)
Remain at the host desk when traffic is busy
Possess a working knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available
Maintain a clean working area - ensuring a clean and organized entrance
Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
Monitor tables with minors and ensure groups are aware of age restrictions in the casino; communicate proper exit
Adhere to all company and department policies and procedures
Other duties as reasonable and assigned
Working Conditions
May be required to stand, sit or bend for extended periods of time
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
Must be available to work a rotating shift support the Casino hours of operations (holidays and weekend included)
Must be available for some daytime events, weekday evenings, and weekends
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience & Qualifications Required
Restaurant experience preferred
Must be 19 years or older
Good numerical skills
Team-working skills
The energy and enthusiasm to deal with difficult clients
The ability to work to deadlines and cope with the consequent pressure
Ability to work effectively with large number of clients and providers
