Located in Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario (\xe2\x80\x9cthe AGO\xe2\x80\x9d) is one of the largest art museums in North America, with a collection of close to 100,000 works. Through the collection as well as collaborations with leading museums around the world, the AGO presents wide-ranging exhibitions and programs to approximately 1 million visitors annually.

We are currently seeking a Regular Full-Time, Event Sales, Private Dining, F&B to join our Food & Beverage team. Under the direction of the Manager, Revenue Outlets Operations and Services, F&B, the incumbent will promote, sell, develop and coordinate private dining events for the Food & Beverage Outlets. Advises and coordinates private dining events for AGO internal clients. They will keep in mind the standards, principles and values of the AGO, as they build relationships, create connections, and bring ideas to life, exhibiting a passion for great events and guest experiences. They will be goal oriented and driven, while understanding the unique needs of a unionized restaurant environment. And finally, they will ensure invoicing and closing is performed with high accuracy and timeliness. This position believes in and is a contributor to the AGO\'s vision and values. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
  • Diploma/Degree in Hospitality, Tourism or Culinary Arts (is preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years direct related event industry experience in a sales and event coordination position.
  • Demonstrated understanding of food & beverage health and safety standards.
  • Well-developed ability to sell to clients and close the sale.
  • Well-developed knowledge of the food, beverage and event industry, services practices and procedures.
  • Well-developed organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office/365/Teams, Outlook, and other food and beverage software programs.
