Event Ambassador.
Reporting to the Manager of Events, the Event Ambassadors are responsible for setting up the various venue spaces at the Innovation Centre for Platform initiated and third-party client events. The primary role of the Event Ambassador is to liaise directly with clients on the day of their event to ensure the event's success. Event staff will be expected to represent Platform Calgary at hackathons, summits, networking receptions, meetings and more. Applicants for this position must be available to work during the day, evenings and/or weekends.
What will you do?
Set-up and take down a changing roster of events at the Innovation Centre
Provide a high level of customer service to the client and their service providers
Work with Platform Calgary Hosts, volunteers and third-party suppliers to successfully prepare, execute and conclude events at the Innovation Centre
Liaise with the client to perfect the details of the event during set-up, execution, and strike
Ensure the comfort of visitors, service providers, staff and volunteers
Liaise with Platform Calgary Security and cleaning staff as required
Provide good stewardship of the Innovation Centre venue spaces, resources, and equipment
Represent Platform Calgary, communicate our mission and vision and be up to date on key messages
Ensure at all times that all clients and visitors leave having had a positive experience of Platform Calgary
Complete other duties as assigned
The right candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:
Be a strong leader with exceptional customer service, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to think on the fly, be proactive and provide feedback to improve the guest experience and internal processes
Be willing to and able to work flexible part-time schedules, including day time shifts, evenings and weekends
Be enthusiastic and self-motivated, able to work independently and be quick to take initiative
Have strong communication skills and be able to think and act quickly
Understand that being an ultimate host to our clients, both internal and external, and their needs is paramount
Proactive problem-solving and analysis
Have strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; able to multitask and manage time wisely
Who you are:
You are excellent in event/project management in a fast paced environment
Have a client first and ultimate host mindset; proactively understanding clients unique needs and enthusiastically offering guidance and support
Represent the Platform brand and the Platform Innovation Centre
Additional Notes:
Must have the ability to move furniture (predominantly on wheels) and set/reset rooms to specific layouts including light lifting
Be able to stand for up to 8 hours
Familiarity with audio visual equipment is an asset
