Evening Shift Team Lead

Job Description

Assign work, balance workloads, and ensure adequate coverage across machines and processes Act as the primary point of contact for employees during the evening shift Coach employees on performance, attendance, and workplace conduct Escalate employee relations or performance issues to management as required

Production & Operations

Ensure production targets and schedules are met for the evening shift Monitor workflow, machine output, and product quality throughout the shift Identify and address production issues, bottlenecks, or delays Communicate shift handovers clearly to day shift leadership

Health, Safety & Quality

Enforce all health & safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements Conduct regular safety checks and address unsafe conditions or behaviours immediately Ensure quality standards and work instructions are followed consistently Report incidents, near misses, or equipment concerns promptly

Training & Onboarding

Support onboarding and training of new hires on the evening shift Ensure employees are trained on equipment, processes, and safety requirements Reinforce standard operating procedures and best practices

Communication & Reporting

Maintain clear communication with management regarding shift performance, attendance, and issues Complete basic shift reports, production logs, and incident documentation as required Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements


Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Prior experience leading or supervising a team is strongly preferred Strong understanding of workplace health & safety requirements Ability to lead by example and remain calm under pressure Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Basic computer skills (time tracking, reports, email)

Working Conditions

Manufacturing environment Standing, walking, and light to moderate physical work required Use of PPE as required
