Job Details

Wage: $20.00/hr

Status: Part-Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM-11:00 PM

Location: 81 Bay Street, Toronto (CIBC Square)

Job Summary

How you will make an impact:
You will be responsible for all room preparation for events, transportation of food, beverage, furniture, and deliveries within the building. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the front of house, including all tables, counters, floors, windows, and beverage station.

As a Porter, you will:
  • Ensure room setups are completed ahead of scheduled start time in coordination with other departments or as assigned by the Catering Manager/F&B Manager
  • Thorough knowledge of daily operations/room setups per conference center floor (times, locations, amount of people, location of all function space and names of rooms, all styles of meeting and Banquet room setting and all safety guidelines
  • Provide excellence in customer service and support of the operations team to deliver exceptional client experiences
  • Proactively solution space and room set up management
  • Assist with transportation of food, beverage, and equipment
  • Other Assigned Duties
About you:
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar previous position
  • Must be able to move tables and chairs and lift/move 50 pounds at one time
  • Ability to read/action BEO\'s in a multi-unit conference center and understand different banquet setups
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity in hotel or conference center environments
  • Valid class G license required
  • Fluent in reading and writing in English
