Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team in a fast-paced restaurant environment at The Butternut Tree. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and cooking, with experience in meal preparation and food handling. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and presentation of our dishes while maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Duties

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and cooking equipment. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure safe food handling practices are adhered to at all times. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen manager. Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, meal preparation, and food handling practices. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools, as well as safety regulations in the restaurant environment. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
