Wollaston Lake Lodge is seeking a dedicated and skilled Evening Chef to join our seasonal culinary team for a seasonal contract position. As one of two Evening Chefs, you will work collaboratively to execute plated dinner service for both guests and staff, following pre-set 8-day guest and 16-day staff menus.
Using Wollaston Lake Lodge's standard recipes, you are required to deliver high-quality meals with consistency and attention to detail. Evening Chefs are responsible for preparing appetizers and main courses, setting up the staff dinner buffet line and executing guest plated dinner service during a dining range. Flexibility to accommodate dietary needs and adjustments based on availability or feedback is imperative.
This is aphysically active role that requires energy, teamwork, and a passion for creating a dining experience for our guests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and cook meals in a timely and efficient manner using Wollaston Lake Lodge-provided recipes
Execute plated guest dinner service accurately from printed chits
Set up and monitor, replenish buffet service for staff
Adjust meals to meet dietary restrictions and allergies as required for guest and staff
Maintain high presentation standards as outlined in manual
Monitor and communicate inventory levels and supply needs
Assist with unloading and storing weekly grocery deliveries ("Truck Days")
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen workspace
Follow all sanitation and food safety protocols
Complete closing duties and end-of-shift cleaning before leaving for the day which include sweeping, mopping and sanitizing equipment
Support an environment of cooperation and professionalism within the kitchen team
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 1 year
of proven experience as a Cook or Chef
Saskatchewan Food Handler Certificate
(Required)
Red Seal Certification
(Preferred)
Valid
Food Safe Certificate
(within 5 years)
Ability to read order chits and follow detailed lodge recipes
Strong attention to detail and time management
Comfortable working unsupervised and as part of a team
Professional demeanor in the kitchen
Physical stamina to perform 10-hour shifts, including lifting up to 50 lbs

SCHEDULE

Full-time hours including
weekends and holidays
2 scheduled days off during the season (relief staff coverage provided)
Shared living accommodations provided on-site
WAGE
$350 per day, plus additional earnings from a shared tip pool
