Job Summary:
The Distribution Centre team is looking for an Evening Assistant Manager, Distribution Centre to be responsible for for supporting all internal departments and leaders to successfully accomplish their tasks in accordance with established company metrics. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising assigned employee groups and managing day-to-day activities, conducting weekly performance assessments, coaching and training new employees. In this role, the leader is responsible for overseeing the evening shift and must be available to work the following schedule: Sunday to Thursday from 3:45 p.m. to 12 a.m. You will be involved in our ongoing transformation from a traditional brick & mortar retailer, to an omni-channel leader and tech-first fashion disruptor.
Responsibilities:

  • Assume leadership and management of a dynamic inbound team of 25 to 50 employees;
  • Ensure productivity and accuracy standards are maintained;
  • Assist the Director with production and employee schedules;
  • Determine hiring needs and take part in the hiring process within assigned department;
  • Review and analysis of KPI reports;
  • Conduct weekly performance assessment on employee productivity;
  • Communicate goals and expectations to employees;
  • Conduct disciplinary investigations and impose disciplinary measures as needed;
  • Adjust work assignments to maintain productive work flow;
  • Support guidelines for insuring safety and security of employees and company assets;
  • Promote a strong team environment and support all distribution functions;
  • Report training needs to warehouse manager and human resources;
  • Recommend training programs, conduct approved training;
  • Ensure shift, break, and lunch schedules are adhered to;
  • Maintain and provide feedback for productivity ratings and quality standards;
  • Maintain inventory accuracy;
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
Education
  • College degree (DEC, Technical diploma, Community college diploma) or University degree.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position within a distribution centre or an industrial environment;
  • Solid understanding of distribution centre workflow;
  • Accounting and/or inventory knowledge an asset.
Technical skills
  • Ability to do physical type of work including heavy lifting;
  • Knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel;
  • Ability to learn and use the internal Logistic system;
  • Knowledge of WMS scale, an asset.
