We are currently seeking a motivated, organized, and service-oriented Evening/Night Dispatcher to join our operations team. Why join Planete Courrier? What you will do on a daily basis

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, accurate, and efficient dispatch of drivers. Your role will consist of:

Coordination & Monitoring

Transmitting calls and information to drivers via the dedicated application and, if necessary, supplementing by phone. Regularly monitoring critical deliveries and ensuring compliance with the specific requirements of each site. Communicating with customer service regarding delays or special situations.

Planning & Optimization

Ensure optimal driver allocation across Greater Montreal to maximize efficiency and profitability. Plan upcoming deliveries based on available resources. Inform drivers of important road conditions when relevant.

Resource Management

Monitor drivers' workload, taking into account their abilities and strengths. Constantly monitor drivers throughout their shifts. Serve as the primary contact for scheduling, availability, absences, delays, and unforeseen events. Report absences and delays to the responsible manager. Ensure that daily checks (logs) and Inspection forms are completed properly.

Other Responsibilities

React quickly to unforeseen events (absences, lack of resources). Perform any other related tasks in support of operations.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

DEC (Diploma of College Studies), or a relevant combination of education and experience. Excellent communication skills in French Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and a transportation management system

Skills Desired

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience or knowledge in transportation (required). Strong problem-solving skills. Organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
