Evaluation Research Associate

Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director, Research and Graduate Studies, the Evaluation Associate will support the overall direction of the project and, depending on background and interests, may also have opportunities to participate in related research projects in collaboration with faculty members and an experienced applied research and evaluation consultant.
Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit Research Ethics Board applications.
  • Conduct consultations with interested and affected parties as identified in the evaluation plan using a range of methods including interviews, focus groups, surveys, and. observational methods
  • Data monitoring and analyses as required for the project. Provide support to monitoring and implementation of the evaluation plan and data collection processes.
  • Lead implementation and monitoring of the communication plan. Liaise with Evaluation Consultant and others as required to proactively identify and communicate risks to successful project completion.
  • With support from project coordinator and Evaluation Consultant, monitor timelines and deliverables to ensure alignment with project goals; provide leadership and direction to ensure these are met.
  • Prepare documentation and reporting as required for funders and partners.
Note
The position will require local travel to conduct community consultation and some flexibility in work hours to meet community members at their availability.
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Health Sciences, Education, Business Administration) plus a minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Experience conducting interviews, focus groups and consultations as well as in qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills along with the demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple expectations, work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite.
  • The successful applicant is required to have a valid Nova Scotia driver's license and their own transportation for offsite consultations.
Assets
  • PhD in relevant field such as Health Sciences, Education, Business Administration.
  • Experience with collaborative evaluation or research initiatives.
  • Experience working in academic or healthcare environments.
