The ETL Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data integration solutions that enable the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources into data warehouses, data lakes, or other storage systems. This role ensures data quality, consistency, and availability to support business intelligence (BI), analytics, and reporting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop ETL processes
to extract data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, flat files, etc.), transform it according to business rules, and load it into target data systems (e.g., data warehouse).
Build and maintain data pipelines
to support analytics, reporting, and data science workloads.
Optimize ETL workflows
for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation
to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Collaborate with data analysts, BI developers, and stakeholders
to understand data requirements and deliver reliable datasets.
Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs
to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
Document ETL processes, data mappings, and data flow diagrams.
Implement best practices
for data governance, version control, and process automation.
Work with cloud and on-premise data environments
(e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, etc.).
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering
, or a related field.
3+ years
of experience in ETL development or data engineering.
Strong proficiency with
ETL tools
such as:
Informatica PowerCenter / Cloud Data Integration
Talend
Microsoft SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
Apache NiFi, DataStage, or similar platforms
Advanced
SQL skills
for data extraction and transformation.
Experience working with
data warehouses
(e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse).
Familiarity with
scripting languages
(Python, Shell, etc.) for data automation.
Understanding of
data modeling
concepts (Star/Snowflake schemas).
Knowledge of
data governance
