About the Role





The position is responsible for working closely with youth, health, and social service organizations to increase awareness of Etcetera, respond to community inquiries, foster community collaboration, and help reduce barriers for youth accessing our programming and supports.



This position works closely with the Bridge team members who take the lead on fundraising and communications for Bridge Programs (Director of Community Engagement, Community Engagement Coordinator, and Marketing/Communications Assistant).



This position also provides facilitation support to Etcetera on Thursdays between 4 to 7 pm, and functions as a backup to the Etcetera Group Lead when that person is absent.


Compensation:

$23.63 - $38.62, depending on educational qualifications per Bridge policy


Evening shift premium - additional $3.50 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr Weekend shift premium - additional $2.50 per hour between 2400hr (midnight) Friday - 2400hr (midnight) Sunday Shift premiums compound- additional $6.00 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr on 2400hr (midnight) Friday - 2400hr (midnight) Sunday

Position:

Up to 10 hours per week. The work schedule includes Thursdays from 4 to 7 pm. The remainder of the hours can be worked flexibly but will sometimes require alignment with scheduled community events and meetings.


Qualifications




Education and experience


Degree or diploma in health or social sciences, and/or relevant lived experience Experience working with youth who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ and their families Knowledge of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community Training and experience in providing education and support in a group format is an asset Experience working cooperatively with a variety of community agencies is an asset

Job skills and abilities


Ability to work both independently and in a team and accomplish tasks in a timely manner. Demonstrated ability to work with a broad cross section of people and groups with a strength-based, capacity-building approach. Professional written and verbal communication skills required. Demonstrated interest in working in a team setting with other staff, community agencies, and volunteers. Strong commitment to youth and family needs, along with ability to navigate complexity in 2SLGBTQIA+ families and communities. Demonstrated ability to update and respond to social media (Instagram and Facebook). Personal transportation is needed but driving clients is not an expectation.
