The Estimator/Project Coordinator is responsible for delivering projects of varying sizes and compatibility for the required quoting, directing, organizing, coordinating and controlling project activities, equipment and information, under the direction of the Project Manager.
MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare estimates of labor and material costs
Follows up with clients regarding estimates/quotes
Coordinates between shop, site contractors and clients
Prepares bill of material
Prepare lists of required materials, and vendors
Prepares and maintains directory of suppliers and contractors
Estimates pre-contract costs
Advises on tendering procedures
Monitors and adjust contract expenditures
Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
Assist the Project Manager with administrative duties as required
Coordinates the project in all matters related to the project content
Takes responsibility for the effective flow of information between team members and participants in project activities
Resolves coordination issues and problems that develop during the project. Those that cannot be resolved are elevated to Project Manager
Ensuring the effective preparation and delivery of all project events, meetings and production of all necessary documentation
Updates, reports and analysis on the progress of the project
Is able to prepare shipping bills for delivery
Other duties as required

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
University, college, vocational or technical training an asset
Project Construction Management an asset
Membership in the Professional Corporation for Estimators an asset
Professional Certificate (PMP) an asset
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3-5 years' experience
Capable of reading and interpreting structural steel drawings
Knowledge with StruM.I.S. as asset
Computer skills: Excel, Word, MS Projects, Primavera, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
