Job Overview


The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and scope documents. The Estimator works closely with Project Managers, clients, and trade partners to ensure bids are competitive, complete, and aligned with company standards and profitability goals.

Responsibilities



Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects. Utilize software tools such as Xactimate to recreate detailed estimates and project budgets. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing. Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, contracts, and changes in scope throughout the project duration. Provide support in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects. Participate in site visits to assess conditions and gather information relevant to estimating processes.

Qualifications



Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential. Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices. Familiarity with cost control methods and pricing strategies within the construction industry. Proficiency in using estimating software such as Xactimate is preferred. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing project specifications. Previous experience working on construction sites is advantageous. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for collaboration with team members and stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Pay: $41,328.57-$97,919.12 per year
