Reports to: Lead Estimator
Job Location: Remote, supporting various projects across Canada, some site travel required
Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Lead Estimator, the Junior/Intermediate Estimator works with the Senior Estimator to establish the quantities of equipment required, analyze the costs and contractual conditions for the realization of a potential project and assist in the preparation of bids to obtain the contract allowing Borea to build it.

Bachelor's degree in engineering
3-5+ years of relevant experience in estimating and experience on site is preferred
Demonstrate an interest in the renewable energy sector
Communicate easily in English and French, both orally and in writing
Excellent proficiency in MS Project, Excel and knowledge of Bid2win is an asset
Demonstrate intellectual curiosity
Excellent analytical skills, meticulousness and great attention to detail
Versatility, autonomy and resourcefulness
Excellent ability to handle pressure and stress.
What you will do to complete this mission successfully:
Verify plans and specifications, collect all the documents required for the completion of the project (construction drawings, specifications, addendum, tender forms and general and special conditions)
Participate in the analysis of drawings and specifications, contractual conditions and identify to the Chief
Estimator the elements at risk or opportunities
Coordinate, with external consultants, preliminary engineering and participate in the recommendation of the best solution based on cost, engineering, quality or availability of materials
Prepare and send technical questions and answers (QRT) to clients
Develop a plan on how to build and plan the project as well as the methods used
Prepare the preliminary work schedule as well as the optimization of the sequence of work
Prepare and send tender documents to qualified suppliers and subcontractors
Participate in the analysis of the content of bids received from suppliers and subcontractors
Extract quantities (number of cubic meters, length of roads, etc.) with the company's tools and provide detailed quantity readings
Attend coordination meetings, site visits and assess the difficulty of the project to estimate
Perform project cost estimates using the software used by the company
Prepare the project's overheads (supervision, general conditions, offices, insurance, specific equipment, security, quality, etc.)
Ensure that the estimate is structured according to the cost breakdowns of the different projects
Be in constant communication with external consultants, subcontractors and suppliers during the tendering process until the contract is awarded
Participate in the closing of bids
Ensure that the submission is properly archived and do the post-mortem
Following the contract of a project, participate in the handover meeting with the construction teams.
