THE OPPORTUNITY





We're looking for a detail-oriented and motivated

Estimator

to join our

Fire Alarm Projects Division

.



As an Estimator, you'll play a key role in our success by developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for fire alarm system installations and upgrades. You'll collaborate closely with our

Sales, Design, and Project Management

teams to ensure every bid is precise, profitable, and aligned with company goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO




Project Estimation & Coordination




Review project drawings, specifications, and technical documents to prepare accurate cost estimates. Collaborate with sales and design teams to develop competitive bids. Prepare detailed material takeoffs, labor calculations, and subcontractor quotations. Analyze bid documents to identify scope, risks, and value engineering opportunities. Support the project management team through project handover and budget validation. Maintain and update pricing databases, supplier relationships, and cost benchmarks.


Cross-Functional Collaboration




Work with internal teams to ensure smooth coordination from estimate to execution. Assist in pre-bid meetings, site reviews, and client consultations as required. Provide technical insights and recommendations to improve bid competitiveness and accuracy.


OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE





We're looking for a technically minded estimator who's ready to contribute to a growing division. You have:


Experience in fire alarm system estimation

or a related construction/electrical field.

In-depth knowledge

of fire alarm system components, codes, and standards (e.g.,

CAN/ULC, NFPA

).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

with the ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g.,

Bluebeam

) and Microsoft Office tools. Excellent communication skills -- able to work collaboratively with sales, design, and operations. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.

Certifications

such as

CET

or

CFAA

are desirable but not mandatory.
