Job description

includes but is not limited to:

Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities. Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements. Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price. Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information. Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintains quality service by following organization standards. Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Pricing of items and jobs to be performed in a computerized estimation program (Quote Soft) Reviews tender submissions with appropriate staff Attends meetings as required Maintain all relevant filing for projects Opens new jobs as tenders are awarded Reports to and assists the Chief Estimator and supports the entire Estimation Team Ad-hoc projects and reports

Qualifications Required:

Knowledge of commercial plumbing/mechanical industry is an asset Have an understanding of tender specifications and all related documentation associated with the tendering processes Knowledge of calculating and budgeting Reading and understanding drawings is an asset Must have overall strong technical computer skills especially Excel and other Microsoft programs Experience in Quote Soft estimation software and Smartsheet is an asset Must be self-motivated, a team player with effective communication and organizational skills Bilingualism is an asset
