Under the supervision of the Pre-Construction Manager, the Estimator will be responsible for managing one or more complete estimates while demonstrating a strong command of the entire bidding process. A thorough understanding of project challenges and associated risks is essential to succeed in this role.
What you will do
Review project plans and specifications to gain a comprehensive understanding of the scope.
Prepare project overhead costs.
Develop a preliminary project schedule, including required site resources.
Identify key trades, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers that will contribute to a successful estimate.
Build the estimate using specialized software, incorporating subcontracted tasks, self-performed work, labor teams, production rates, work ratios, quantities, and more.
Analyze the project in detail to anticipate construction methods involving indirect costs.
Assist the Pre-Construction Manager in selecting subcontractor and supplier pricing.
Participate in bid closings, as well as handover and follow-up meetings with construction teams.

This role could be for you if you have
Hold a Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Civil Engineering, or possess equivalent experience.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in estimating and/or executing construction projects.
Solid knowledge in one or more of the following areas: formwork, concreting, earthworks, drainage, and foundations.
Familiarity with Autodesk Suite and Bid2Win is considered an asset.
Advanced proficiency in English.
Versatility, strong analytical skills, and a desire to be actively involved long-term in a results-driven estimating team.
Good understanding of the Eastern Canadian construction market.
