Position Overview

We are looking for an experiencedEstimator whose primary responsibility will be to find, analyze, and bid on tenders across Nova Scotia. This role is ideal for a self-driven professional who is confident interpreting plans and specifications and is motivated by performance-based compensation.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and monitor tenders and bid opportunities throughout Nova Scotia Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and addenda Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates based on: Issued drawings As-built plans Site conditions and project requirements Develop quotes for both commercial and residential clients Coordinate with management to confirm pricing strategy and scope Submit complete and compliant bids within deadlines Maintain organized records of bids, takeoffs, and pricing assumptions

Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience as an estimator in excavation, civil, and trucking Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and as-built plans Solid understanding of excavation methods, materials, and equipment costs Familiarity with Nova Scotia tendering platforms and procurement processes is an asset Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids at once Proficiency with estimating software or Excel-based takeoffs is preferred

Compensation Structure

This position is compensated through a bid fee and bonus structure, including:

Bid fee paid per completed and submitted tender Bonus compensation tied to successful bids awarded and/or project value
This structure rewards accuracy, efficiency, and successful tendering performance.
