Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our manufacturing team in London, Ontario. This role involves preparing precise cost estimates and quotes for door and millwork projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with client requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at collaborating with clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities:

  • Analyze architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Generate detailed quotes within 24-48 hours, adhering to project deadlines.
  • Collaborate directly with distributors and customers to address project details and resolve inquiries.
  • Apply pricing guidelines and material standards to maintain consistency and accuracy in estimates.
  • Record and manage all quotes using company systems, ensuring proper tracking and documentation.
  • Communicate with clients regarding design adjustments or clarifications as needed.
  • Work closely with production and design teams to transition approved quotes into actionable orders.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of customer interactions and project notes within company systems.
  • Ensure all estimates align with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for process optimization.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years' experience in estimating or a related field within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in CRM and ERP solutions, including Great Plains (GPAC) and IBM AS/400.
  • Strong knowledge of office functions, purchase orders, and materials handling.
  • Ability to interpret complex architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to effectively collaborate with clients and teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with industry pricing standards and guidelines.
  • Competence in using technology to track and manage project documentation.
