Estimator - Kitchener, ON

Cober Printing Limited is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team in Kitchener, Ontario. This on-site, day-shift position is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals for commercial and digital printing projects. Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, the Estimator works closely with Sales, Client Services, and Production teams to analyze specifications, determine project requirements, and ensure competitive pricing and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze client documentation and determine project scope and requirements for preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals. Interpret RFQ details and collaborate with Sales and Client Services to clarify and assess client requirements. Prepare detailed estimates for all production jobs based on specifications received from internal teams. Price all production work according to established company estimating criteria, and consult on non-standard jobs as required. Educate Sales and Client Services on production options that can improve quality, cost efficiency, or turnaround times. Source new products or materials based on client requests or samples, obtaining samples and pricing from suppliers. Request and evaluate outsource pricing and timelines to ensure project feasibility and cost-effectiveness. Maintain consistent estimating practices, pricing terms, and discount structures to ensure accuracy and fairness. Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure best pricing and timely delivery. Assist in the preparation of complete and accurate proposals in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Maintain estimate and proposal files as historical references for future quoting and project planning. Utilize estimating software to input data, calculate costs, and generate reports. Support production management in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Comply with all occupational health and safety requirements and company policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Post-secondary education in Business, Print Management, or a related field. Previous experience as an Estimator in the print or manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, printing processes, materials, and purchasing methods. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and estimating software. Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Kitchener, Ontario facility. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, day shift. Some flexibility may be required to meet project deadlines.
